WESTFORD -- A series of fundraisers are under way to help the family of Lea (Agostino) Dagg, who has been diagnosed with peritoneal desmoplastic mesothelioma. She has undergone chemotherapy and surgery, but during surgery in January it was determined that the cancer was inoperable.

Dagg graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1988, where her father, Italo Agostino, was a popular foreign language teacher and boys soccer coach for years. Dagg went on to become a successful teacher and coach at Methuen High School. She is married to Bryan Dagg and the couple has a son, Lucas, 3.

A series of fundraisers has been scheduled which will help the family with living expenses and her medical expenses, and will also establish a scholarship fund for Lucas.

The first event will be Friday, May 7, at the Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center, with a buffet dinner, dancing and music provided by John Mansfield Entertainment. Reservations must be made by Friday.

Tickets are $75 each and can be obtained by sending your name, address, e-mail, and a check made out to the Lea Dagg Benefit Events Fund to: Don and Trudy Desfosse, 32 Clarissa Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824.
